CELL PHONES OR OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES

Students are ONLY permitted to use cell phones or other electronic devices, including headphones, before and after school, during break and at lunch in the cafeteria or outside. At all other times throughout the school day, they should remain in students’ backpacks or out of sight.  This includes when leaving for the library, office, lockers, or any other location outside of the classroom.  No use is allowed during passing periods or while using the restrooms during class time.

  • All students have a Chromebook (or personal device) on which to complete schoolwork.  There is rarely an academic reason to access personal phones.
  • Students may not communicate with students who are in class during the lunch period.
  • Students will not take ANY pictures or videos on school campus or buses unless given explicit permission from administration (for example: photo students working on a project). This includes selfies.
  • Students will not upload pictures/videos of other students to social media or websites without permission.
  • Students will not record voice memos without permission.
Teachers may permit the use of cell phones for academic activities related to the curriculum and will notify students when this type of use is authorized.  Phones that are used, or are visible, will be confiscated by the classroom teacher/staff member and turned into the main office.
